Hey my name is Shaforia Kines and today was an awesome day! I have really enjoyed my time in Montreal, Canada. We went to breakfast and ate at Muffin Plus and had a chill day until we played at 7 and got a victory against Bishop university!!! We had a great pregame meal before we went to the gymnasium. We had grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli! we also had a quick photo shoot before we loaded the bus. Coach Yo in the front, Ms. Don on the left, and myself on the right! I also enjoyed the strip mall and bought me a pair of Paul George's basketball shoes today!
Hello, My name is India Hall . I'm an upcoming junior from Nashville TN. We started our day off with a good breakfast at Deli Planet. Later on we went to La Ronde and had a blast! 😊😊😊We even rode the Metro together
We started off our day early at 7am. We first ate at Deli planet for breakfast. At 11:20 we arrived in Quebec. We ate lunch at St. Hubert's and then went to see the site called Abraham's Plain After we played our game against Laval we had the opportunity to go see Old Quebec
Hey guys! My name is Christen Carter and I am a redshirt sophomore. Today we had a free day to explore Montreal! Genesis, Erin, Devyn, Casey, and I had a VERY eventful day..getting lost 😂. After breakfast at Muffins Plus we set out to find the Nike store. We were supposed to take the Metro to its very last stop and then catch a city bus to the Nike store. What ended up happening was we took the Metro to the last stop and then waited for the bus for about 15 minutes before asking a bus driver if the bus we were waiting on was working today. He then informed us that it only runs during rush hour (it was only like 11:30). He was extremely nice and asked to see the address of our destination and then offered to take us there for free since it was on his route anyway. It wasn't until we were at our "destination" that we figured out that the address in Maps was wrong. We went back on the bus and informed him that we went 9 miles in the opposite direction. He was nice enough to take us back and he gave us written directions to how to get to the new (and correct) address. When we finally made it to the outlets we decided to grab some lunch. We ate an amazing lunch at a restaurant named Roasters. Our waiter came up to us speaking French and we said English please and then in his best attempt at an American accent he said "Okay awesome so how we doing guys" 😂. Almost all of us got a burger. Devyn had a delicious grilled chicken wrap. After lunch we went shopping!! There were a lot of good deals in all of the stores. We then made our way to the city bus and rode it back to the metro stop and then road the metro to our hotel. It was a long day (for some more than others😂😂) We all took a nap before dinner. Casey, Genesis and I were craving sushi so we stopped at a cool spot called Kuú and enjoyed some yummy sushi. A few of my teammates enjoyed some food at a food truck festival here in Montreal for dinner. Our coaching staff hiked Mount Royal this morning and saw a beautiful view of Montreal. I finished off the night with some recovery for my legs to get ready for our second game tomorrow in Quebec City! Go Jags!
Heyy guys I'm LaNeetra Guillory, a senior from Houston, Texas and today was our first game day in Montreal! So far our time in Canada has been very exciting and interesting, not only have we learned the history of Montreal but we have had the chance to tour around and experience the city life for ourselves. After breakfast today, some of the team did a little shopping at the mall in Montreal. On the way there we came across some beautiful buildings too! Our two coaches, Chyna Ellis, our trainer Trinity, and Maddy Fowler went zip lining over the Montreal river this morning. Pre-game meal was at the hotel, grilled chicken, potatoes, and broccoli was served. And as always, seniors get their food last!! Finally it's Game Time!! Before the game we took pictures with the Montreal All-Stars and gave them South Alabama souvenirs. As a whole, the game was a very fun and new experience for the entire team. We went out and played hard, as a result we got our first win in Montreal!! The final score was 68-50.
Hey guys! I'm Genesis Perrymond, I am a senior from Lilburn, Georgia. Today was our first full day in Montreal & it was phenomenal! I couldn't have asked for a better start to this trip. After a much needed night of rest from the day of travel, we began the day fueling ourselves at Muffin Plus. From breakfast we had a day full of adventure! We were on the way to a bike tour of Montreal. There were a ton of beautiful sights and pictures were not able to do them justice, but if you ever have the chance to visit Montreal I would highly recommend going. I would like to give the workers of Ca Roule Montreal on Wheels a HUGE thank you! They were wonderful. Following our our bike tour, I was able to have the opportunity of being with some teammates while they experienced their first crepe. In their words, " This is SOOO good, oh my gosh!" After some great food and exercise, we decided let's try and get back to our hotel by taking the metro! 😬 This was the start of a lovely adventure where we successfully made it back to the hotel. As we walked out to the street my teammates and I began to cheer at the sight of seeing our hotel. We were able to recoup for a few hours, and then headed to dinner. As we entered the lobby, rain was pouring down (it was as if we were back in Mobile 😅). This was nothing for our wonderful "escort" & she led us through the underground tunnels to our dinner. Moxie's is a place I'd recommend 10/10 . The food was delicious, and to top off the night some went to Tim Horton's for doughnuts 🍩 😋. This have been a great day! Stay tuned for Day 4 🎉
Hello everyone! I'm Erin Autio, a senior from St. Michael, Minnesota. After a great evening in New Orleans yesterday, we got up early to continue our travels to Montreal today! We were lucky enough to be able to give two of our freshman their first experiences on an airplane. Congrats to Jayla Morrow and Casey Ferguson for surviving their first flights! After eating Qdoba for lunch in Atlanta, we hopped on our last flight to Montreal. We landed safely! After finding the bus, we met our official "escorts" as she called them, and got to learn a little about our trip and some things we need to know about Montreal before we go out on our own. We had a delicious dinner at Baton Rouge Steakhouse and then had free time to walk around the city. We found some shopping, a movie theater, a laser tag place, and much more. After a long day of traveling, we headed back to the hotel a couple hours before curfew to get some extra rest. I think we all can say we are excited for what Canada has in store for us! Lastly, look at these hotel views! 😍 Hello readers!! My name is Chyna Ellis, I am from Memphis TN, and this is my senior year here at South. This year we are fortunate enough to take a team trip to Canada before the school year begins. Yesterday was the first day of our journey. We spent the day/night in the Big Easy. A New Orleans right of passage!! #BEIGNETS #YUMM The famous BOURBON STREET!! #Ifyouhaven'tbeen #Youhaven'tlived This guy stopped us and was a real character!!!! Lots of laughs and smiles with him Have you seen the latest comedy Girls Trip??? If so then you're familiar with this person.
